Ram unveils plush Laramie Longhorn Southfork, brings Lone Star Silver edition to Heavy Duty lineup

Updated Oct 27, 2017

Ram has unveiled a new Southfork edition of its Laramie Longhorn truck, saying the latest edition of this “opulent” model packs “more luxury, technology and refinement.”

The truck maker also announced that its Lone Star Silver edition would now be available on its Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 trucks.

From the outside, the Longhorn Southfork truck is set apart from other Ram models by a “Longhorn” badge stretched across the tailgate in chrome. The truck is available in all the colors the Laramie Longhorn is available in, including the two-tone option, unveiled earlier this year.

The interior of this truck is dripping with leather. Canyon Brown and Light Frost Beige Natura Plus 100 percent full-grain leather coats the seats along with the A- and B-pillar grab handles and Walnut-trimmed steering wheel. The headliner and visors are covered in Light Greystone suede.

Ram has also sprinkled “galvanized-appearance” trim pieces throughout the cabin with wood accents and Ruby Red stitching. An 8.4-inch touchscreen is mounted in the center stack providing navigation, 4G Wi-Fi connectivity and Apple Car Play/Android Auto.

The Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition is available on Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 4×2 and 4×4 Crew Cab, Mega Cab, long or short box. The 1500 Southfork starts at $52,615 while the HD models start at $57,015.

Ram customers who liked what they saw from last year’s introduction of the Lone Star Silver edition on Ram 1500 trucks can now get the same treatment on a heavy duty truck.
