Illinois Tollway awards $3.8 million in construction contracts in April

The Illinois Tollway Board of Directors approved construction contracts valued at $3.8 million at its April meeting, bringing the yearly total for construction and engineering contracts to $132.9 million.

Total construction and engineering projects approved by the Illinois Tollway for the Move Illinois program has reached closed to $4.3 billion since the program began in 2012. This includes $989.6 million to small, veteran-owned or disadvantaged, minority- and women-owned businesses.

The most recent contracts include two subcontracters certified as disadvantaged, minority- and women-owned business enterprise firms. Twenty-three percent of the $3.8 million in this round of contracts is committed to disadvantaged firms.
