XL Specialized raffles trailer

David Demag won the raffle for an XL Specialized trailer at the 2009 Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) Annual Conference on April 25.

Demag, president of Demag Riggers and Crane Service in Willston, Vermont, was able to select a trailer from a variety of XL Specialized trailers valued at $50,000 or less. XL Specialized representatives worked with Demag to select a premium 110,000-pound-capacity Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck Construction trailer with an 18-foot deck, low profile and deep well for long booms.

The raffle raised money for the SC & RA’s organization, the SC & R Foundation, which provides money for industry research, education and scholarships. Around 200 tickets were sold for $500 each, raising more than $60,000 for the foundation.

Scott Wall, president and CEO of XL Specialized, drew the winning ticket. Wall says that the company’s donation showed its commitment to the SC & R Foundation, whose work benefits XL Specialized and other companies.

“That was a good day when we found out we won,” Demag says. “We already felt good about buying a ticket because it supports the Foundation.”
