Terex Trucks, a division of Volvo Construction Equipment, used Bauma to showcase its new TA400 41.8-ton articulated dump truck (ADT). The truck is the division’s first new product since Volvo purchased the firm from Terex in 2014, and is also the first in a series of new Generation 10 ADTs to be introduced this year.
The 30-cubic-yard heaped capacity unit features upgraded hydraulic hoses, electrical interfaces, and transmission mountings over previous models.
Hydraulic component life cycles are prolonged through the use of magnetic pressure filters that reduce the risk of contaminants entering the system, improving the cleanliness of hydraulic oil.
The force-cooled multi-disc brakes are supported by an electronic activated exhaust brake and a six-stage modulating transmission retarder. A high performance transmission oil extends service intervals up to 6,000 hours.
