Cut it, scrape it, tie it and clean it; Makita has a tool for almost everything concrete related

Updated Mar 11, 2020

During the recent World of Concrete show, Makita had a wide variety of battery powered tools on hand at its booth. Here’s what caught our eye.

For comfortable, cord-free demolition, the new Makita 18 volt Power scraper (XKH01) accepts SDS-plus bits and features Makita anti-vibration technology. The vibration absorbing housing moves independently of the hammer system to isolate vibration. Constant speed-control electronics give you consistent chiseling power throughout the application.

The new XEC01 Power Cutter uses paired 18 volt batteries to generate 37 volts of concrete cutting power using a nine inch blade. By eliminating the power cords or gas engine, this saw gives you immediate starts, lower noise, lighter weight and lower maintenance. Ideal for wall or above chest height applications the XEC01 also has an integrated water delivery system with a water flow adjustment knob to keep you in compliance with OSHA Table 1 concrete cutting applications. Available Spring 2020.

To help keep your sites (and lungs) clean and dust-free, the new Makita 11 Gallon Wet/Dry Dust Extractor/Vacuum (VC4210) offers several improvements over the old model, including lower weight and an increased airflow of 148 CFM. The new vac has a lower center of gravity and wider base for better stability and mobility on the jobsite. The two-stage HEPA filtration system is OSHA compliant and uses reversed air flow to clean itself. Among the optional accessories is a 12-inch concrete slurry floor nozzle for easier site cleanup.

And for fast and efficient rebar tying and cutting, the 18 volt LXT Brushless Rebar Tying Tool (XRT01)delivers up to 5,300 ties of #3 rebar on a single charge.
