PHOTOS > Up close with the very nice 2016 Nissan Titan XD Platinum Reserve

Updated Nov 7, 2015

We’re just about a month away from the first shipments of the all-new 2016 Nissan Titan XD hitting dealer lots in the U.S. There’s quite a bit of buzz around this truck thanks to the much-needed styling refresh Nissan gave the Titan (the first in 10 years), but also because of the power this thing packs.

Unveiled in January, the main draw to the Titan XD is the Cummins ISV5.0 under the hood. This 5-liter diesel V8 pushes 310 horsepower at 3,200 rpm and 555 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,600 rpm. Nissan puts the maximum towing capacity at more than 12,000 pounds with a max payload capacity of 2,000 pounds. It’s a light-duty pickup you can attach a gooseneck to, which is pretty cool.

In the gallery above, we get a pretty good look in and around the Platinum Reserve model of the Titan XD. It’s very nice. In fact, I’d say of all the trucks I was around on the SEMA show floor, this is the one that got the most audible reaction out of people as they got a look inside. Lots of “Wow…” and “Man this thing is nice.”

Another note: this Titan XD is towing the “Project Triple Nickel” Titan that Nissan unveiled during a SEMA press conference. Nissan and Cummins are going to begin entering that truck in land speed record attempts. You can read more about it here.
