ARA to recognize officers who’ve helped recover stolen equipment

For years, law enforcement agencies have helped equipment rental companies prevent theft and recover stolen equipment. Now the American Rental Association is planning to pay these officers back.

ARA in conjunction with ARA Insurance Services and the National Equipment Register established an annual award in 2004 to recognize the law enforcement officer or agent who has “performed exceptional service to the rental industry through the recovery of rental equipment or through theft prevention initiatives.”

The ARA Insurance Services/NER Award, will be presented at The Rental Show Feb. 6-9 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Nominees can be sworn law enforcement officers or civilian support personnel. The winner will receive:

· VIP guest status at The Rental Show
· Travel to and from the show, with paid accommodations
· Plaque to be presented on the first day of the show
· A grant of $1,000 to the winner’s department to support equipment investigations

To submit a nominee, include a brief summary of the case or activity that demonstrates an officer’s achievement in 2005 to [email protected].
