NUCA names new head of education foundation

The National Utility Contractors Association has named a new executive director of the association’s Foundation for Education and Research.

William H. Plenge, founder, president and chief executive of Potomac Services International, has experience in the industrial equipment, nonprofit and consulting sectors. He will begin his role at NUCA on Oct. 1.

Plenge’s primary responsibility at the NUCA foundation will be to raise public and private sector awareness and support for programs that advance NUCA’s research and education goals.

“NUCA is very fortunate to add a person with Mr. Plenge’s contractor and government experience to its staff at this point in the association’s evolution,” said Bill Hillman, chief executive of NUCA. “Through both industry- and government-funded initiatives, we plan to ensure that the foundation remains responsive to the needs of today’s rapidly changing construction environment.”

Prior to joining the staff of NUCA, Plenge held several concurrent positions at the American Concrete Institute and was employed by Deere & Company for 21 years.
