Ingersoll-Rand has acquired the United States distribution rights to market and sell Tramac-branded hydraulic breakers and demolition tools, vibratory compactors and cutting heads. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Tramac breakers are used as attachments on a range of construction equipment. Christopher P. Vasiloff, senior vice president of IR and president of the company’s construction technologies sector, said the transaction provides a strong platform for product expansion and fits Ingersoll-Rand’s long-term growth strategy for the attachments business. “Attachments provide substantial growth opportunities and this transaction will enable Ingersoll-Rand to build an attachment bundle around our core products to deliver customers a broader solution to meet their general construction and contracting needs,” he said.
