Six projects receive western regional America’s Transportation Awards

00_INFR_ATAlogo_659x439pxSix transportation projects have won awards in the sixth annual western regional America’s Transportation Awards competition.

The competition, sponsored by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), AAA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, recognizes transportation projects in three main categories: “Ahead of Schedule,” “Under Budget” and “Best Use of Innovation.” The projects were also ranked by size: small category (projects that cost less than $25 million), medium category (projects costing between $25-$200 million) and large category (projects that cost  more than $200 million).

Nine transportation projects were nominated.

The following projects received awards:

U.S. 95, Sand Creek Byway project: Idaho Transportation Department (IDT) – Ahead of Schedule category, medium

I-40 Crosstown project: Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) – Ahead of Schedule category, large

Dumbarton Toll Bridge Seismic Retrofit project: California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) – Under Budget category, medium
