Caterpillar has expanded its demolition excavator line with the new Cat 330 Straight Boom excavator.

The 330 SB is matched to a number of demolition tools including hammers, multi-processors, grapples, pulverizers and quick couplers, including the MP324 jaw and HCS80 coupler shown in the video.
Other demolition-specific features include additional guarding and P5A laminated glass on the front and top windows, a washer and wiper on the top glass, a sloped track frame and protected undercarriage to reduce debris buildup and medium-pressure and quick-coupler circuits to meet the needs of a wide range of attachments. The boom, stick and frame are reinforced and the bucket cylinder has a guard. Cat Payload technology is standard when the 330 SB is equipped with a bucket. Cat Payload for Grapples is an option and can prevent over- and under-loading trucks on demolition projects, the same as it does for traditional excavation. A straight travel pedal is standard; joystick steering is an available option.
The 330 SB can be used for excavating and offers a dig depth of 19 feet 1 inch. All machine controls are positioned in front of the operator in the next generation cab and can be customized using the 10” touchscreen monitor. That same monitor displays feeds from the standard rear- and right-side-view cameras—a 360-degree camera view is optional—as is information from the Cat Grade with 2D when excavating. Other technologies include VisionLink, Cat Product Link, Remote Troubleshoot and Cat Command to provide remote processes including excavator operation, management of production targets, diagnostics and gathering of operational data.
